Neil Bailey was born in Luton, England in 1961 and lives in Greenwich, London. After working over 30 years in the publishing industry for Time Inc, IPC Media, Northern & Shell and Mad magazine, Neil is writing fiction full time.

His first novel, When She Was Bad was released in 2016 to five star reviews and was shortlisted for the 2018 ‘Write Here, Right Now’ prize. The sequel, Bad For Good, continued the adventures of Barclay and MacDonald and was published in 2017. The Woman at Twenty-six, a ghost story, was published in 2018.

A Necessary Murder was published in June 2020
